BLACKBERRIES

A Yenga between Alexis K. Rotella and ai li
Los Gatos, California and London
20 - 22 March 1997

Blackberries
in a turtle shell -
tree-house lunch.

cowboys and indians
i get to be
the squaw

recess tag
the lame girl
is "it"

pigtails
smelling of guacamole

on the dreamboat's desk
a toliet paper flower        pink

he autographs the picture
with a heart

valentine's day
I douse his card
with Blue Waltz perfume

he smiles
at the wrong sister
the pretty one

the gum wrapper
he dropped
under my pillow
